Empowering Healing and Growth: Sam Kimball (they/them), Expert in Trauma Therapy and LGBTQ+ Support

Sam Kimball is a committed counselor who champions mental wellness tailored to individual needs, employing a trauma-informed, strengths-based methodology that respects each person’s cultural context and leverages their self-knowledge in the therapeutic process. With specialized expertise in trauma therapy, developed through significant experience as a domestic violence counselor, Sam also possesses a deep passion for grief work, supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, and aiding trauma survivors navigating substance use recovery.

Sam’s clinical acumen spans a broad spectrum of mental health challenges, including trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and substance use disorders, primarily among adults and adolescents. To provide personalized care, Sam integrates a diverse array of therapeutic approaches such as relational-cultural therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and narrative therapy.

Currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Sam operates under diligent clinical supervision. He holds a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kutztown University and is an advanced doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Duquesne University. Beyond individual counseling, Sam actively contributes to the academic field as a leader of university supervision groups for counseling for Northwestern University.
